Music videos return to UK YouTube
Music videos are once more available to YouTube viewers in the UK after the streaming site reached an agreement with songwriters' group PRS for Music. In March, YouTube blocked thousands of music videos to UK users, after failing to reach agreement over fees. YouTube, owned by Google, is paying an undisclosed lump sum to PRS, backdated until January and lasting until 2012.

Sony Ericsson has unveiled a new handset model which will run Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The company said that the new Xperia X2 handset will use the new operating system to help power a number of new messaging and multimedia features.

Blu-ray discs to go 3D
Industry body for the Blu-ray market the BDA, has announced plans to incorporate 3D into the Blu-ray Disc format. 3D discs will also include a 2D version of the film that can be viewed on existing 2D players. The announcement has already gained support from Walt Disney studios, which currently has a 3D movie playing in theatres in the US.
