India sets subs record
India's mobile operators added a record 15.64 million new connections during March this year, taking the total number of activated wireless lines to 391.76 million, according to the latest figures issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) .

The supplier says sales in its Client, Microsoft Business Division, and Server & Tools divisions were most affected by the weakness in the global PC and server markets, although revenue from corporate customers remained stable.

TeliaSonera, Elisa, DNA get Finland 4G frequencies
Finland has announced today that it has allotted additional frequencies to the three nationwide mobile network operators, TeliaSonera, Elisa and DNA, for opening next-generation networks. Finland said the frequencies are located in the 1,800 MHz band, making it the first country in Europe to allow the use of next-generation LTE technology at such low spectrum.

Google patches "severe" Chrome
Google has patched a bug in its Chrome browser that allowed attackers to perform cross-site scripting attacks. The flaw was discovered earlier this month by an IBM security researcher and was patched last night, with the release of Chrome version 1.0.154.59.

Nokia has announced that the new Nokia 6216 classic handset will incorporate NFC technology on the SIM card, paving the way for operators to more easily deploy mobile-payment systems. The 6216 classic is Nokia's third mobile phone with integrated NFC support, but the first that puts the secure element of the technology on the SIM card.
