So it's not in any danger of losing its no.1 spot, but it looks like Nokia has got a serious rival in the shape of the iPhone. Not only has Nokia joined the rush to find an 'iPhone killer' touchscreen handset, but it's also finding that its grip on the Smartphone segment is starting to loosen. Why? Well, Nokia recently said it had sold 15 million N95 handsets in two years; newbie Apple sold 6.9m iPhones in just Q3.
Of course, Nokia has the cushion of a range of other devices, but the N95 has been seen as a stellar performer. Could this mean we might see fewer devices but more quality from Nokia next year?
